Md. was praying Fajr in the mosque next to the house after eating sahri. Nazrul Islam (45). His elder brother Jahangir Alam Liton (48) and younger brother Shamchul Alam Shahin (40) hacked Nazrul to death with ramda and chapati while going to bow after the first rakat. At that time, when their elder brother Vipul (52) stopped him, he was also hacked and seriously injured. This incident took place in Charpubail village of Sadar Union of Ishwarganj upazila on Friday morning. Nazrul Islam is the son of late Bashir Uddin, a brave freedom fighter of that area. According to eyewitnesses and local sources, the brave freedom fighter Bashir Uddin died on September 7, 2015. Soon after this, a quarrel started between the brothers over the division of the property left by him and the money of freedom fighter allowance. Vipul and Nazrul were on the same side. Jahangir and Shaheen on the other hand. Their dispute leads to litigation. A few days ago, the dispute took a new shape with the cutting of a tree in the house. In this situation, Nazrul came home last Wednesday to resolve the dispute. On Thursday night, four brothers had an argument about these. Nazrul and Vipul went to the mosque to offer Fajr prayers after eating Sahri. Jahangir and Shaheen entered the mosque after the first rakat and cut Nazrul on the upper body with a ramada and chapati. Vipul was injured while trying to stop. Locals rescued them and took them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared Nazrul dead. As Vipul’s condition is critical, he has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. In this regard, Ishwarganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) PSM Mostachinur Rahman said, “On receiving the news, the incident site has been inspected. The body has been kept at the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem. After the incident, the two accused brothers fled. Efforts are on to arrest them. Apart from this, other legal measures are in process.
